Working in oils or watercolour, most of my paintings are completed in the studio but they draw on thousands of hours in the field- this is where I'm happiest. I live in a dramatically beautiful place yet still I can't conceive of a landscape or view that isn't even further enhanced by the inclusion of some wildlife that interacts within it. For me, this extra element completes the scene and the memory of the moment is all the greater for it. Where ever possible I look to capture this feeling in my work.
