country and garden

The English Countryside is a wonderful place, I know it well and as a landscape artist I am never short of inspiration. However a river without the flash of a kingfisher, the open moors without the wheeling buzzard or a summer meadow without the soaring skylark lacks an indefinable something. And surely our beloved gardens would be so much less enjoyable without the ubiquitous, ever popular robin and frequent visits from many of our other more familiar birds.

I try to interpret that special harmony that exists between our native creatures and their environment capturing a moment in time and possibly allow a fleeting glimpse into Britain’s wild places.
